What to Eat Tomorrow? Starting My Weight Loss Journey!?

A tough weight loss question this week. Let’s dive straight in

Question: Hello, I am starting my weight loss journey. I have about 100 pounds to lose and my goal is to lose it in 10 months.

For breakfast - I am having a fresh fruit salad. Peaches, strawberries, blueberries, grapes and apples.

What should I eat for lunch or dinner?
I am trying to avoid all bread because that is my weakness.

Answer: First: Good luck and congratulations. The first step is the biggest!

A few tips that helped me:
Stay hydrated. Try to drink a liter of water day at least.
Hot liquids help fill you up, so drink hot tea (try herbal or fruit without sweetener) or a cup of low-sodium broth with your meal.
Oatmeal is awesome-healthy, easy to make, and it will help to keep you full. Try the little instant packets of plain and you can add fruit to it.
Try to avoid artificial sweeteners. They make you crave sugar worse later on.

A good meal for me was a chicken breast and steamed veggies.

Good luck hon!

I Need Weight Loss Tips…?

Well here’s a question I just had to answering straight away:

Question: im fourteen and i weigh 290 ibs. I have started a diet and i need extra tips, what to do and what not to do, what helped you.. Please dont be mean, its hard enough already.
Answer: Don’t starve yourself. It will slow down your metabolism. Start eating healthy. Eat salads with every meal. Drink a half of a gallon of water everyday and don’t drink anything else but water. The water will make you feel energized. Use the energy to exercise. Take your vitamins everyday. Since you’re too young to join the gym, I would go for an exercise dvd. My favorites are by beachbody because they’re fun and they even give you a diet plan and a workout calendar to tell you what to do. Avoid going to the store and if you have to go to the store, make sure that you don’t go when you’re hungry. Get a good night’s sleep. Diet and exercise go hand in hand. Remember that… Hope I helped and good luck :)

Is Reduced-Fat Mayo Going to Affect Weight Loss?

A tough weight loss question this week. Let’s dive straight in

Question: I’ve been on a very strict diet the whole summer. And now school is starting so I’m going to eat a little more, while still eating healthy. I was wondering if Kraft Mayo with Olive Oil(reduced fat) is a good choice(will not cause weight gain) for a turkey sandwich? thanks
Extra Question: Are the carbs in Triscuit Reduced-Fat Crackers good or bad?
Thanks
Answer: Mayonnaise is made from fat. If you’re on a reduced fat diet you can’t have mayonnaise… (at least not without nasty chemicals and processing to make "reduced fat" mayo - dodgy stuff). You’re better off with something like fresh herbs or ripe tomatoes or some seasoning (like salt and pepper) to give the sandwich flavour.

Where to Buy Real HCG Diet Weight Loss Drops?

We’ve had a reader question come in on the subject of weight loss. Let’s take a look:

Question: I’m currently in preparation for the hCG diet. I want to loose 50lbs by new years. I would like to know a few things from people who have used hCG in the past. Where to buy real hCG diet drops? Please specify what brand of you used. How to make the diet easier? Any good recipes and foods to eat with the hCG diet would be helpful as well.
Answer: I tried Green Web HCG about 6 months ago and did not have a good experience at all. After sharing my experiences on a weight loss forum someone recommended Pharmaslim HCG and directed me to their blog where they recorded all of they’re meals and weigh-ins day by day while using Pharmaslim. I was impressed so i ordered a bottle in April and dropped 25 lbs in the first 42 day cycle. It’s one of the only hCG weight loss formulas available that offers a money back guarantee. Highly recommended, just be sure to prepare yourself for the diet, believe me it can be very hard to limit yourself to 500 calories per day.

So Im Entering a Weight Loss Challenge?

What’s this week’s question? Let’s dive straight in…

Question: Its for the whole month of september theirs 9 other ladys n who ever looses the most weight wins $200 so my question is how can i lose weight i am 218 and if i run a mile or maybe two everyday can i lose some weight???
Answer: There are 3 important things to do and keep in mind in order to lose weight.

- Change your diet -
Start eating fruits/vegetables and substituting white bread for whole grain (same with noodles, and cereal) Buy skim milk instead of regular. try eating only every 4 hours. And most important, COUNT YOUR CALORIES. Dont eat over your daily set limit, but dont eat under it either.
See your doctor to figure out how many calories you should consume a day to lose weight in a healthy and safe way.

- Exersize -
Dont push yourself too far. overexersizing can hurt you and cause damage to your body. Start slow and gradually build up, that way your mussels can have a chance to develop and exersizing will be easier and you will be able to do more. (mussels naturally burn calories so having more will mean that you will burn more a day. This is more for men than women, but will still make a great deal of difference for you)
To start I suggest walking and hand weight exersizes.

- Willpower -
This is the most important. In order to reach your goal, you will need to set your mind on wanting to achieve it. Encourage yourself and talk to other people who are also trying to lose weight. Dont get discouraged if you dont think you look any different in a month, it takes awhile. It will be like climbing a hill and when you get to the point where your exersize and dieting is where you want it, from that point on, it will be like going down the hill and will show with weight loss, extra energy, mood, and looks.

Losing weight is a VERY good goal and will do wonders for your health if done correctly. Hope it works out and good luck!!

Will This Affect My Weight Loss…?

Well here’s a question I just had to answering straight away:

Question: So I am trying to lose 10 pounds in about two months… I consume around 1200 calories per day and work out 30 minutes at least 5 times a week… I try to eat healthy food like fruits, veggies and nuts along with some carbs… Anyways so yesterday my bro was eating these chocolate cookies and I just ate three of them… I felt guilty and worked out right after that for 30 minutes… Do you think it will affect my weight loss or I will still continue with losing weight?? Thanks in advance…
Answer: I’ve been dieting for around a month and I have lost 13lbs, i wasn’t overweight in the first place but got to the point where the clothes felt tight!

Anyway, those three cookies won’t hurt, you seem to have set a realistic target and a realistic time to do it in. Nice to see someone on here not starving themselves to be skinny and doing it the normal way. Good Luck!

P.S Allow yourself a treat day, this is what i did and it prevents you from cheating in the week. Surprisingly it doesn’t counter act the work you put in all week, as your stomach shrinks and you are able to consume less food, a bit like a fake gastric band i suppose. And always remember to stop eating when you are full!

Weight Loss Tips, Got Any?

Well here’s a question I just had to answering straight away:

Question: Hello, but first of all I’d like that there wouldn’t be any hateful comments, that would be appreciated.
On topic, by my age I’m really overweight and I’ve decided to lose some weight I have a running track in my house, I’ve been exercising, and lifting weight. I’m wondering if any of you know how to increase the weight loss, drink only water, no beverages, not to eat any junk food and so on.

Any advice is greatly appreciated, thanks.
And what about drinking coffee with sugar?

Answer: Well I’d say that drinking water is essential to losing weight, as you probably know. Drink about 64 ounces a day. Also, instead of eating 3 big meals a day, try eating every two hours, but eat smaller portions. Like 200 calories (at most) at a sitting. Like maybe an apple, a turkey rollup, string cheese, fiber bar, etc. Best of luck to you (:

Overweight Teen, Nervous About Gym, Weight Loss Tips?

I just love answering these weight loss questions. Here’s another:

Question: Basically I’m 14 and really overweight. I can’t wear any stylish things that other teens wears for example Abercombie and Fitch and Superdry. I wan’t to start loosing weight but I’m really nervous about going to the gym. I’m scared there will be people who keep on staring at you to see what you’re doing and I’m scared my induction will be embarrassing. I’m especially nervous about my induction. Everyone keeps on teasing me about my weight and I’ve finally had enough. My family keep on comparing me to other fat and ugly people on T.V and keep on saying they remind me of them. Not talking about adults here but mostly teenage cousins. Please tell me if you have any tips to tell me with my weight loss. Thanks
Answer: Whenever I go to the gym, there’s all types of people there. Old men going 2 miles per hour on the bike, obese women going on the elliptical, super duper fit women on the stairmaster, you name it, they’re there. There’s usually enough people there, and enough of a variety that nobody would be staring at you. As long as you don’t go into the freeweights section with all the ripped men, you should be fine. Also, don’t just lose weight so you can wear what other people wear. Do it for yourself. You shouldn’t feel pressured to fit into an extra small Abercrombie and Fitch shirt. For the weight loss part, also be aware of what you are eating. Don’t ever say "Oh, well I worked out this morning so it’s okay for me to eat more for lunch" or something. It takes a balance. Also be aware of your portion sizes, the back of the box may say that a portion has 120 calories, but take the time to measure out exactly what a portion is, otherwise you may be eating more than one portion. Weight loss takes time and patience, and you need to stick to a healthy, balanced diet (avoid processed foods if you can, a little is okay, but not too much) and have an exercise plan a few times a week.

How Do You Loss Weight? ? ?

Keep the weight loss questions coming! I liked this one:

Question: im 12 , 5 feet and weight 120 i eat 3 times a day and execise most of the time can you tell me how to put of some body fatt and poundss ? trying to loss 5 pounds before school starts in 3 weeks hellllllppppp!
Answer: How To Lose Weight

Roughly one-third of the population of the United States is considered to be obese. While some individuals choose to lose weight for cosmetic purposes, there are underlying health concerns which should be addressed. Obesity is in the top two for leading causes of death in the U.S. because it places individuals at a significantly higher risk for heart disease, cancer and cerebrovascular ailments which can include strokes. It has also been proven that being overweight and inactive considerably increases the risk of diabetes which is the sixth leading cause of death. With this in mind, whether it is through diet, exercise, weight loss products or a combination of the three - it has become vital to understand how to lose weight.

Weight Loss through Diet

Sometimes minor dietary changes are all that is needed to provide significant weight loss over time. Consider the fact that in order to lose one pound it is necessary to cut back on approximately 3600 calories. It is quite possible to lose one pound per week from dietary changes alone by eating roughly 515 fewer calories per day. That might sound like a lot but sometimes minor adjustments can facilitate that quite easily. One chocolate bar is equivalent to 500 calories or more and the amount of oil and/or butter consumed in the course of the day can quickly add up to 900 calories.

Snack Healthy

Learning how to lose weight with healthy substitutions is an effective way to diet. A small snack size bag of potato chips is at least 500 calories and that’s not accounting for the dip. It is imperative to find all the hidden fats that most of us are totally unaware of. If you are going to consume products such as chips, always substitute baked chips for fried chips and find a fat-free alternative for dip – in which case salsa is perfect. Some people enjoy rice cakes that are low in calories, fat free and come in an assortment of flavors. Condiments are another source of hidden calories that are often overlooked. Mayonnaise, for instance, is made from whipped oil and egg. Many people fail to account for all that fat when slathering it onto their low-fat turkey sandwich on whole grain bread. If you are one who likes to have a chocolate bar or cake now and then, consider fresh fruit instead. Even if that seems too boring, use fat-free whipped toppings or fat-free yogurt on the fruit to make it more appealing.

Abstain from Refined Sugars and Starches

There are plenty of carbs that fall into the low glycemic index which can be safely eaten in moderation. Most whole grain products, although high in carbs, are composed of healthier, low glycemic, slow burning carbs. Cook with brown rice instead of white rice and use buckwheat noodles (soba) in place of pasta which has little nutritive value which results in wasted calories. Most importantly, the best advice for how to lose weight and improve overall health is to increase the daily intake of dietary fiber. Cruciferous vegetables like broccoli are extremely low in calories and high in fiber. Not only does fiber keep foods moving through the intestines, fiber is also proven to absorb a certain amount of fats before they can be absorbed through intestinal walls, to be stored by the body. That is exactly why high fiber foods are considered to be heart- healthy foods.

Weight Loss through Exercise

Some individuals find that they are eating the appropriate amount of calories that should enable them to stay within a healthy weight range; however, for some unknown reason they are overweight. That unknown reason is probably a lack of physical activity. Learning how to lose weight through exercise highly depends on a person’s level of fitness. There are plenty of activities that could easily allow them to lose a pound a week, even if caloric intake remains the same. In order to understand how to lose weight through exercise, it is important to calculate the calories expended per hour for any given exercise. For instance, a 190 pound person who is totally out of shape could walk at a slow pace for an hour and burn approximately 216 calories. That’s a good place to start.

A daily walk after dinner would account for a loss of about 2 pounds per month from that added activity alone. Walking at a slightly faster pace puts the calorie consumption up to 300 per hour. Leisurely swimming burns an average of 516 calories per hour and general dancing burns 388 calories per hour for that 190 pound person. As levels of fitness progress, exercises can be increased to burn calories much more quickly. It is always important to remember to slowly and safely build up to more taxing exercises when out of shape. When learning how to lose weight through exercise, one should always begin with activities that are within their level of fitness. For a more systematical approach, consider signing up with a local gym and get a trainee to design a program for you.
