How Do U Stay Committed to Weight Loss?

What’s this week’s weight loss question? Let’s dive straight in…

Question: how do u stay committed to weight loss no matter what??
my problem is always giving into junk food how do i stop that? whats the best way to not give into junk food and do well with your weight loss?
Answer: It is actually very easy if you get in the habit of never giving in. Then it’s just something about you. If you never have sweets, they will eventually taste bad if you don’t have them (like how when people switch to diet [pop/coke/pepsi/soda], eventually the original one is too sweet for them.) The only thing is that means that you will never have sweets. That’s a very hard thing to start. But once you start, it gets easier as you go.

Or if you want, you could make yourself picky about sweets. Convince yourself that you don’t like cookies [enough] but maybe you will eat your favorite junk food, which you only come into contact with around 4 times a year. That way, you avoid eating most junk foods, you cherish your favorite food more than normal, and you don’t over indulge in your favorite food.

Besides that, you should change your focus. Instead of focusing on leaving junk food, focus on trying new foods. Find new, healthy recipes. Spend more time in the vegetable isle, and explore it. Try new foods. It’s like an adventure.

Don’t forget you can’t just change your weight. You also need to exercise.

How Much Should I Run for Weight Loss if I Am Predisposed to Being Injured?

Filed under: weight loss — Tags: — Tracy @ 7:02 am

We’ve had a reader question come in on the subject of weight loss. Let’s take a look:

Question: Each time I run I injure myself, when i went to the doc finally he told me i had torn my meniscus. Its been a couple months since then but my leg is feeling alright now, no longer hurting when i bend or step wrong. I do not want to be injured again. How much should I run to avoid being injured, and should I run every other day instead of every day to avoid being injured again? Thanks
Answer: If you are predisposed to being injured, you should start doing fast walks/slow jogs instead. Running is quite hard on the body, especially if you’ve been hurt.

As long as you keep your heart rate within 85% for at least 30-45 mins, you’ll lose weight.

I'm Concerned About My Friends Weight Loss Goals?

A weight loss question that should definitely interest you all this week

Question: In a previous question I explained how a friend wants to be so skinny she wants people to think she has an eating disorder. I’m explaining how important it is to be healthy and looking at her BMI. Right now she is at a healthy weight for her height and age. It is a little lower on the healthy side more towards underweight but still healthy. She wants to be just below the 5% range so she is at the cusp of being just underweight. She claims she doesn’t want to be too underweight, but she wants to be underweight.

She has been eating

breakfast-cherrios
lunch-handful of trail mix
snack-100 calorie popcorn and a small plum
dinner-small salad with no dressing. Just lettuce and veggies

She works out a lot too she has to be burning at least 600 calories a day.

Would you be concerned?

Answer: Yes, those are normal symptoms of anorexia. Low calorie intake and increased exercise. That’s exactly what anorexia is. Talk to her friends, her family and talk to her about this and your feelings of concern. She needs help, before it’s too late.

Weight Loss and Muscle Gain!?

I just love answering these weight loss questions. Here’s another:

Question: does anyone know of an EFFECTIVE workout to lose weight from my stomach and one for thighs.

and an EFFECETIVE workout to gain muscle in my arms?

Answer: This article is inspired by a lot of the questions people have e-mailed to me since I’ve had this site up. I must have answered this question 100’s of times by now. The questions are usually something like "How can I gain muscle and lose fat at the same time?" or "I want to lose fat but gain muscle at the same time, how can I do it?" If you went into a gym and took a poll of what everyone’s goal was, I can bet that most, if not all, would say to gain muscle and lose fat. I doubt there is anyone who just wants to lose fat, they want to gain muscle while they are at it, and visa-versa! So, is it? Is it possible to both lose fat and gain muscle at the same time? No, it is NOT possible, and I will not only tell you why its not possible, but I’ll also tell you how you can do both, just not at the same time.

To lose fat, what do you have to do? You have to do lots of cardio, eat a low carb/low fat/lower calorie diet, and of course, lift weights. To gain muscle, what do you have to do? Do little or no cardio, eat a high calorie/higher carb/higher fat diet, and again, lift weights. Did you notice something there? Yup, they are complete opposites. Trying to gain muscle and lose fat at the same time would be like trying to sit and stand at the same time. It just can’t be done. This is why most people who are trying to do both at the same time see no results and give up. So, then how can it be done? How can you lose fat and gain muscle if you can’t do both at the same time? Simple, you don’t do them at the same time. You do them in phases.

Easy 10pts on Good Weight Loss Tips?

What’s this week’s question? Let’s dive straight in…

Question: I’m 19years old and I weight around 165lbs, I don’t look my weight but i’m deff unhappy with the number. I need a good cardio/walking plan and eating plan to help lose weight. I can’t lift weights for reasons and am unable to attend my gym currently for personal reasons as well, I just wanna know how long I should walk a day. What kinda fruits should I eat and how much in a day.I know about drinking 8 glasses of water a day but I heard the more you drink the less water your body will retain so how many glasses of water should I drink? I just really wanna get back down to my 120lbs weight that I was when I was 17.

Any advice I would appreciate thank you.
Easy 10pts to best answer.

Answer: I know how you feel.. It does suck to know that you weighed a lot less at one point in time… But i found a way for myself to lose weight… I do 50 crunches right before bed, and right when i wake up in the morning as well.. Drink 4-6 cups of water a day.. and in the morning eat Kellogg’s "Special K" cereal. It is fantastic!… As far as lunch, eat something very simple such as a salad (do NOT use low-fat dressing’s!!)… and last but not least, when it comes to dinner, just enjoy whatever you like… However, try having smaller quantities of your choice..Hope this helps!! I lost nearly 20 lbs in 2 weeks!
