What’s this week’s weight loss question? Let’s dive straight in…
Why is this such a common myth?
1. It is something that people say when they describe a person who lost a lot of weight and toned up. They say: "Wow, he turned all his fat into muscle." Because this has become a part of our day to day language, it has slowly filtered into our beliefs as well.
2. There may have been certain shady marketers in the past who claimed to be able to produce this effect. I don’t know of any product that was promoted with such bogus claims, but I wouldn’t put it past some marketers as there are some bad people out there.
3. We would like to believe this is true because losing fat and gaining muscle are the two most common and important goals a fitness oriented person wishes to achieve (after maintaining proper health, of course). So, it’s very tempting to believe that there’s a connection between one and the other. It will sort of allow you to kill two birds with one stone.
Well, sorry, it can’t be done. However, this doesn’t mean that you can’t lose fat and build lean muscle tissue. You can indeed. But these are two separate processes that you do and not one and the same.
To lose fat and gain muscle you need to follow a healthy diet plan and to workout regularly, doing intensive and effective strength training workouts. Otherwise, you will never be able to build lean muscle tissue. It just won’t happen.
When you do your workouts, make sure to train your entire body to develop the most muscle tissue you can as this will also help you to burn more fat. Do you cardio session after your strength training session and really push yourself throughout your workouts to get the best and fastest results possible.

We’ve had a reader question come in on the subject of weight loss. Let’s take a look:
1.How long do I need to do CARDIO (w/ no gym equipment) each day to lose at least 15 lbs in a month and continue from there to lose more weight?
2.DO NOT TELL ME ABOUT DIETING/FOOD.
Yes i know that it’s not healthy, that you need to do more than cardio, that dieting is ideal, this that and all the fine print but IDC, i (personally) don’t need to do all that to lose weight
3.So just answer the question and don’t go past that. I know how to work with other exercises, I just need help with cardio because i cant figure out how long i should do it -since it’s going to be my main exercise.
4.Exercise is all i need-(trust me)- it’s the only thing I’ve done my whole life to keep fit, feel amazing & it does wonders for my skin. About to 2 years ago I stopped and since gained some weight that I need to start working on, hence the question.
THANK YOU
Sorry I couldn’t help myself
The amount of cardio completely depends on the amount of excess food consumed each day.
Losing fat/weight is simple math ( food consumed - (calories burned from exercise + Calories burned sustaining your body) = Weight gained or lost )
So eat less then you burn leaving an excess that your body takes from stored fat.
I just love answering these weight loss questions. Here’s another:

Telling me not to lose weight gets a low rating, and you deal with it lol.
