Is Reduced-Fat Mayo Going to Affect Weight Loss?

A tough weight loss question this week. Let’s dive straight in

Question: I’ve been on a very strict diet the whole summer. And now school is starting so I’m going to eat a little more, while still eating healthy. I was wondering if Kraft Mayo with Olive Oil(reduced fat) is a good choice(will not cause weight gain) for a turkey sandwich? thanks
Extra Question: Are the carbs in Triscuit Reduced-Fat Crackers good or bad?
Thanks
Answer: Mayonnaise is made from fat. If you’re on a reduced fat diet you can’t have mayonnaise… (at least not without nasty chemicals and processing to make "reduced fat" mayo - dodgy stuff). You’re better off with something like fresh herbs or ripe tomatoes or some seasoning (like salt and pepper) to give the sandwich flavour.

Will This Affect My Weight Loss…?

Well here’s a question I just had to answering straight away:

Question: So I am trying to lose 10 pounds in about two months… I consume around 1200 calories per day and work out 30 minutes at least 5 times a week… I try to eat healthy food like fruits, veggies and nuts along with some carbs… Anyways so yesterday my bro was eating these chocolate cookies and I just ate three of them… I felt guilty and worked out right after that for 30 minutes… Do you think it will affect my weight loss or I will still continue with losing weight?? Thanks in advance…
Answer: I’ve been dieting for around a month and I have lost 13lbs, i wasn’t overweight in the first place but got to the point where the clothes felt tight!

Anyway, those three cookies won’t hurt, you seem to have set a realistic target and a realistic time to do it in. Nice to see someone on here not starving themselves to be skinny and doing it the normal way. Good Luck!

P.S Allow yourself a treat day, this is what i did and it prevents you from cheating in the week. Surprisingly it doesn’t counter act the work you put in all week, as your stomach shrinks and you are able to consume less food, a bit like a fake gastric band i suppose. And always remember to stop eating when you are full!

Any P90X Weight Loss Results for Women?

Another weight loss question has come in this week. Let’s tackle it straight away:

Question: My boyfriend just bought P90X and I’ve seen some youtube videos and testimonials from some people, but I wanted to know more. I want to know if anyone has lost weight on P90X without using the included diet plan? I know the diet plan would work, but I don’t want to go by that. I’ve lost weight before by eating what I want and just keeping the calories below 1400; however, in the book it says you NEED to follow the included diet plan because of the perfect proportion of protein and carbs and blah blah blah. I already know that I WILL lose weight if I just keep my calories at 1400 and workout everyday, I just want to know if any other women out there have had any WEIGHT LOSS success?
The reason I don’t want to follow the diet plan is because I’m a college student and I don’t have the money to buy all these fancy foods. I’ve read through the book and I can already see I’d have to buy all kind of stuff and cook foods that I don’t know how to cook. I don’t have the money to do this, this is why I’m asking for ANY alternatives that have WORKED.
Answer: First off im a guy but I do the p90x, and have lost weight and seens significant muscle increase. As for dieting i eat anything i want aside from alchohol but i focre myself to keep it to 1800 a day when working out and 1500 when not working out. Best of luck to you!

My Doctor is Clueless, Night Fevers, Swollen Nodes, Severe Weight Loss. Knowledgeable People Only Please :)?

A tough weight loss question this week. Let’s dive straight in

Question: For a while I’ve been pretty sick, I’m 22 and a half or so & I’ve been complaining of night fevers, sore throats, nausea, abdominal pain, & exhaustion. I had developed Pancreatitis a while ago & was so swollen I looked pregnant, so I figure this isn’t Pancreatitis. My doctor has no clues, I’m already up to 4 swollen lymph nodes when usually I’d have 1 or so. They’ve lasted for 2 weeks maybe. I already got my flu shot so I figured it was a cold & just to stay in bed although I had symptoms before the nausea & abdominal pain came into play. I had blood work, no news is good news with him. I’ve lost a substantial amount of weight as well, all my clothing is very loose on me now & I shrunk 2 and a half or 3 cup sizes so that’s how I REALLY know I’ve lost fat at least. I’ve been going out despite being sick lately too, to my friends houses etc. I stayed in bed for like a week before & I thought I was better, now it’s flaring up again. This seems recurring, if it is a cold there’s nothing I can really do for it but eat well (I eat a primarily vegetarian diet low in carbs, & the weight wasn’t coming off then but now it’s just melted off in a very short amount of time & my stomach hurts all the time, I have not been starving myself lately though I am prone to doing so at other times accidentally because my Wilson’s Disease causes anorexia in some people, basically no appetite).

I had been tested for Pancreatitis and I didn’t have it, what else should I run by the doctor as of Monday? I feel really sick, but at the same time energetic when I’m not exhausted. Sometimes I just pass out for 13 hours & I feel relatively good except for extra migraines and extra sore joints. They’re very painful & he has no idea what to do about that either. Perhaps it’s all related? I’m used to having sore joints, but not THIS sore. I can hardly walk sometimes. I went from being a size 12 triple D breast size to a size 8 or so in just 2 weeks, and C. My skin isn’t sagging or anything so that I’m thankful for - but is weightloss that fast dangerous? My doctor welcomes me to throw out suggestions since I’m a former pre-med student but I dropped out because I really don’t want to be a doctor. At all. Still, he’s out of answers especially since I got my flu shot and the pancreas panel came up normal. What else do you think I should run by him on Monday? Because he really is clueless, I was even told to go to the emergency room but I have a phobia of doctors, if my stomach was swollen like before though I’d go since I almost died back then. Since the Pancreatitis I have lost over 10 inches, I don’t weigh myself because I’m very muscular too (I have an athletic build I suppose, very boxy & muscular arms/legs/neck), they seem unaffected and just as large as before. Also, I come from Jewish ancestry and there’s a lot of people in my family affected by illnesses but I don’t know which ones or if they match what I’m experiencing, it’s part of the ancestry.

I Just Found out Carbs Are Necessary for Weight Loss Especially if You're Physically Active.. Why Avoid Carbs?

What a great weight loss question:

Question: I’ve been for a very long time lifting weights, doing cardio, and eating protein, but never touching the carbs for a very long time. What I was avoiding like the plague is what I need to manipulate my decrease in bodyfat. All you hear about is protein, but if you’re not ever eating over 50 grams of carbs for the whole day, your body will always store fat because you’re depriving it of sufficient carbs. Did you know this as well?
Answer: there’s good carbs and bad carbs. just eat a lot of good carbs like meat for protein and carrots etc.

junk food has carbs but those are the bad kind of carbs.
yeah i knew all of that a long time ago….

Is It Ok to Have Unsweetened Almond Milk on a Weight Loss Diet?

A tough weight loss question this week. Let’s dive straight in

Question: I normally have fat free milk which is about 90 calories a cup, 13g carbs and 0g fat. I recently tried un sweetened vanilla flavored almond milk, 40 calories a cup, 2g carbs, 3g fat. It tastes really good too! I was wondering if I can have a cup of it per day on my diet…is taking 3g of fat from this a bad idea? How many grams of fat per day are you supposed to eat on a weight loss diet?
Answer: Yes, the almond milk is much better for you. The carbohydrates are what gets converted by your liver into fat that gets stored on your stomach and hips. With this substitution of almond milk for fat free milk, you’re getting 11g fewer carbohydrates and the fats that you get will be much healthier for your body than the casein (milk protein) that you would have gotten from the milk. In addition you’re skipping all the hormones that are naturally and un-naturally added to the milk. Those hormones cause you to grow and store fat too.

A popular diet for weight loss is Zone diet. It has 30 % calories from proteins, 30 % calories from fats and 40 % calories from carbohydrates. Unfortunately, you didn’t give height/weight, so I can’t estimate the number of grams, but here’s an example:

5′ 8" girl is 170 lbs and wants to lose weight. Her starting BMI is 25.9.
If she went down to BMI 22.0 she’d be about 145 lbs. With a bit of light exercise she’d need 2000 calories to maintain her weight at 145, and might need to cut to about 1750 or 1700 calories to lose weight safely at 1 to 2 lbs per week. BMI isn’t always right, but it’s pretty good for average people who are not professional athletes or body builders. Each gram of fat is worth 9 calories, so when losing weight on 1750 calories x 30 % fats / 9 calories/g = 58 g of fat in diet per day. No more than 10 g should be saturated fats according the the US govt suggested diet.

Aspiring Model- Weight Loss and Deadlines?

Another weight loss question has come in this week. Let’s tackle it straight away:

Question: I am an aspiring model, I’ve got the height 5′10". I’m a little older (23) to start this pursuit but people often mistake me for 15-17. I’d like to slim down to a size 7jr (right now I’m 11jr) before I start applying to agencies (hopefully by mid-October). I’ve been drinking lots of water and for the past few days my diet has been a protein shake consisting of one egg, water, and whey protein powder (3g carbs and 26g protein) six times a day. I feel great and haven’t had any adverse effects so my question is how long will it take to reach my goal? Also, am I getting enough fat?

i have already met with photographer’s who have used me to build their portfolio and have said I should definitely pursue. I went to one agency very interested in me but they wanted to send me to paris right off and i didn’t want to skip out on my last quarter of college. I am photogenic, I am proportional, I just want to slim down so that I am even more competitive for the fashion modeling which is what I’d most like to do. So that’s why I’ve given myself until mid-october to reach that goal. I also would like to model lingerie and I think overall my frame is more suited to more slender lines. A few months ag I got a really bad kidney infection and gained 20 pounds so that’s why I have weigh to lose, I’m not at my natural weight right now. With this diet I feel much better and I am already losing the pounds- I just want to get and idea of whether or not mid-october is a reasonable timeframe to reach my goal and also whether or not it sounds like I’m getting enough fat in my diet. TY!

Answer: Virgin Coconut oil is supposed to help with weight loss and give you the ‘good fats’ that your body needs. You can add it to your shake, it’s especially good in a chocolate shake.

Weight Loss Itself or the Protein and Carbs Difference Gets the 6 Pack Abs Results?

I just love answering these weight loss questions. Here’s another:

Question: I notice that when my weight gets lowered the abs look better. However, I hear stories about carbs and proteins….it all gets too technical. Is it all about the technical(carbs and proteins) or the overall in general (weight loss) when it comes to having a great body?
Answer: 6 packs… okay your total body fat is what gives you a six pack; we all have one under the flab somewhere if your body fat is under 10% (men) or 14% (women) then it should show through. working your abs (crunches) will make them look more impressive when they do show through. Lose fat to gain a pack.

What Do You Think is the Best Method for Weight Loss?

What’s this week’s weight loss question? Let’s dive straight in…

Question: I have my own theory, but I want to see what else is floating around.
My theory is that most women in the u.s. are starving themselves on bad calories, so their bodies force them to eat. I think the best method is for breakfast slow cooked oatmeal (Make it ahead of time) with nuts for breakfast, then a small lunch with veggies and stuff and then a dinner at like five thirty healthy of course. You don't need to starve urself and u don't have to give up carbs or anything.
Answer: First off, remember to check out my diet plan here: Tracys Weight Loss Now, on to your question…Plenty of exercise, serene mind and good and healthy food. You can take some Hoodia Gordonii to help you with food cravings. Add fresh air and water, leafy green vegetables, lots of fish and stay off carbs for a while. They also say you should make love a lot, so if you have the primary source, use it (LOL)
