What Would Be the Best Work Outs for Me to Achieve My Weight Loss Goal?

What’s this week’s weight loss question? Let’s dive straight in…

Question: I basically have 3 &1/2 months to lose about 40 pounds, but in the process I want to gain muscel. What are the best cardio and strength work outs that I can do, to make this happen? (:
Answer: hi Sonny
One of the most common fitness myths is the belief that you can turn fat into muscle. I call it a myth because it has never been done, can’t be done, and yet so many people believe that it is possible. Let me make it plain: You can’t turn fat into muscle just as you can’t turn copper to gold. Fat and muscle are two different tissues which are not even similar to each other. Just because when you get fit you tend to lose fat and gain muscle does not mean that one is turned to the other.

Why is this such a common myth?

1. It is something that people say when they describe a person who lost a lot of weight and toned up. They say: "Wow, he turned all his fat into muscle." Because this has become a part of our day to day language, it has slowly filtered into our beliefs as well.

2. There may have been certain shady marketers in the past who claimed to be able to produce this effect. I don’t know of any product that was promoted with such bogus claims, but I wouldn’t put it past some marketers as there are some bad people out there.

3. We would like to believe this is true because losing fat and gaining muscle are the two most common and important goals a fitness oriented person wishes to achieve (after maintaining proper health, of course). So, it’s very tempting to believe that there’s a connection between one and the other. It will sort of allow you to kill two birds with one stone.

Well, sorry, it can’t be done. However, this doesn’t mean that you can’t lose fat and build lean muscle tissue. You can indeed. But these are two separate processes that you do and not one and the same.

To lose fat and gain muscle you need to follow a healthy diet plan and to workout regularly, doing intensive and effective strength training workouts. Otherwise, you will never be able to build lean muscle tissue. It just won’t happen.

When you do your workouts, make sure to train your entire body to develop the most muscle tissue you can as this will also help you to burn more fat. Do you cardio session after your strength training session and really push yourself throughout your workouts to get the best and fastest results possible.

Answer: Dear LOL,

Hey you can do it, you just have to focus on your diet, there are tons of sites with good info (http://thefatburningguide.com bodybuilding.com) but to start off a good diet and a little bit of cardio you can easily lose 2 pounds a week. Trust me I was recently cutting down for a competition and have a very defined 8 pack right now (the picture is a few months old)
So first you should set up a good diet plan, which isnt that hard after the first week or two. I personally use Fitday . com to track my foods eaten when I am cutting. Also fat cannot be spot reduced (reducing fat on certain spots in the body) it is one of the top fatloss myths. You can usually lose fat easily from the arms and legs, then the butt, and then the lower abs and back are the most stubborn and last places to burn fat. You should try looking into HIIT and riding a bike for 2 hours is a great way to burn calories. You can look into doing a HIIT program with your bike. I personally do it with a jump rope. Also gaining muscle is much much harder than you think, it would take you months and months of hard work (great protein diet, and weightlifting protein) to gain any muscle size on your arms. There is just so much I can tell you but I am not sure exactly what else you want to know about. Remember diet is the most important part to fat loss, cardio just helps speed things along.
You can check out my site in the sources (has alot of good HIIT info and I am always adding more articles) and post any other questions you have I check it multiple times a day.
Here are some other tips I posted on a similar question.

1) Most important thing to lose fat is diet (80% of fat loss comes from it)
2) Diet :P
3) The first thing you should do is find your calories burned for the day (google calorie calculator…use the mayo clinic one..i find it the most accurate) then subtract 500 calories from that and thats what you should eat every day
I know it may seem hard to do but after a week you will get totally used to it. I use Fitday . com to track my calories and it makes a ton of a difference and gives me consistent results week after week for over a year.
4) Try doing HIIT cardio..it will allow you to burn fat fast (9-12 minutes of HIIT would burn the same as 20-40 minutes of normal cardio)
(OO ya and ab exercises will barely burn any fat at all)
5) Just check out my site in the source and post up any other questions you have..I check it multiple times a day and will get back to you.

AND GOOD LUCK :D

Weight Loss Question Read Carefully?

We’ve had a reader question come in on the subject of weight loss. Let’s take a look:

Question: Ok here’s another one of those questions.

1.How long do I need to do CARDIO (w/ no gym equipment) each day to lose at least 15 lbs in a month and continue from there to lose more weight?

2.DO NOT TELL ME ABOUT DIETING/FOOD.
Yes i know that it’s not healthy, that you need to do more than cardio, that dieting is ideal, this that and all the fine print but IDC, i (personally) don’t need to do all that to lose weight

3.So just answer the question and don’t go past that. I know how to work with other exercises, I just need help with cardio because i cant figure out how long i should do it -since it’s going to be my main exercise.

4.Exercise is all i need-(trust me)- it’s the only thing I’ve done my whole life to keep fit, feel amazing & it does wonders for my skin. About to 2 years ago I stopped and since gained some weight that I need to start working on, hence the question.

THANK YOU

Answer: LMFAO

Sorry I couldn’t help myself

The amount of cardio completely depends on the amount of excess food consumed each day.

Losing fat/weight is simple math ( food consumed - (calories burned from exercise + Calories burned sustaining your body) = Weight gained or lost )

So eat less then you burn leaving an excess that your body takes from stored fat.

Easy 10pts on Good Weight Loss Tips?

What’s this week’s question? Let’s dive straight in…

Question: I’m 19years old and I weight around 165lbs, I don’t look my weight but i’m deff unhappy with the number. I need a good cardio/walking plan and eating plan to help lose weight. I can’t lift weights for reasons and am unable to attend my gym currently for personal reasons as well, I just wanna know how long I should walk a day. What kinda fruits should I eat and how much in a day.I know about drinking 8 glasses of water a day but I heard the more you drink the less water your body will retain so how many glasses of water should I drink? I just really wanna get back down to my 120lbs weight that I was when I was 17.

Any advice I would appreciate thank you.
Easy 10pts to best answer.

Answer: I know how you feel.. It does suck to know that you weighed a lot less at one point in time… But i found a way for myself to lose weight… I do 50 crunches right before bed, and right when i wake up in the morning as well.. Drink 4-6 cups of water a day.. and in the morning eat Kellogg’s "Special K" cereal. It is fantastic!… As far as lunch, eat something very simple such as a salad (do NOT use low-fat dressing’s!!)… and last but not least, when it comes to dinner, just enjoy whatever you like… However, try having smaller quantities of your choice..Hope this helps!! I lost nearly 20 lbs in 2 weeks!
