Another weight loss question has come in this week. Let’s tackle it straight away:
Question: My boyfriend just bought P90X and I’ve seen some youtube videos and testimonials from some people, but I wanted to know more. I want to know if anyone has lost weight on P90X without using the included diet plan? I know the diet plan would work, but I don’t want to go by that. I’ve lost weight before by eating what I want and just keeping the calories below 1400; however, in the book it says you NEED to follow the included diet plan because of the perfect proportion of protein and carbs and blah blah blah. I already know that I WILL lose weight if I just keep my calories at 1400 and workout everyday, I just want to know if any other women out there have had any WEIGHT LOSS success?
The reason I don’t want to follow the diet plan is because I’m a college student and I don’t have the money to buy all these fancy foods. I’ve read through the book and I can already see I’d have to buy all kind of stuff and cook foods that I don’t know how to cook. I don’t have the money to do this, this is why I’m asking for ANY alternatives that have WORKED.
Answer: First off im a guy but I do the p90x, and have lost weight and seens significant muscle increase. As for dieting i eat anything i want aside from alchohol but i focre myself to keep it to 1800 a day when working out and 1500 when not working out. Best of luck to you!
Another weight loss question has come in this week. Let’s tackle it straight away:
Question: I want to lose weight im eating healthy and want to lose ten pounds are there any good work out routines for at home and what foods should i avoid??
Answer: Good workout ‘routines’:
- Squats.
- Lunges.
- Sit-ups.
- Push ups.
- Crunches.
- Planks.
- Leg lifts.
- Arm circles.
- Do at least an hour of cardio a day. So jogging, running, or even brisk walking.
- Skip rope, ride a bike, swim.
Things to avoid;
- Soda.
- Chips/Sugary or fried snacks.
- Sweetened fruit juice.
- Full fat dairy items.
- Foods with high sodium, high sugar, high saturated or transfat.
Other tips:
- Drink a lot of water, at minimum 6 cups.
- Walk instead of taking the car/bus.
- Do leg lifts during commercial breaks.
- Go on a hike with friends.
- Make it fun, take it slow, do it the right way. Avoid crash diets, pills, or any other gimics. You’ll just gain the weight back in the long run.
A weight loss question that should definitely interest you all this week
Question: ok so i’m about 5′4 and im 21 years old (almost 22) i weighed about 245 back in 2009 then got to 232 in 2010 now im around 230 so not much different at all. im wanting to be at a healthy weight of between 120-130 lbs… i know it cant be done over night and im not looking for that anyway, just wondering, well i have heard about yoplait light diet , i love yogurt and fruit i just haven’t been eating right . but i want to start so i was thinking of a meal plan, here’s an example: very similar to yoplait example diet plan::::
Breakfast: yoplait light yogurt (6oz), an apple or a banana
lunch: yoplait light yogurt (6oz), an apple or banana and a whole grain like a cup of cheerios or something
dinner: grilled chicken, green beans and carrots..
ive already replaced soft drinks and stuff like that with water, i drink mainly water with the exception of sometimes i have a little of the koolaid singles (lower in sugar than normal koolaid).. and i have crystal light sometimes. so what i want to know is basically i know i cant get an exact answer from this, but , will this be a good meal plan, i love these foods but i also love bad foods which is why im obese , so i want to change it… any idea on how much weight i can lose a month on average? im trying to lose as much weight as i can by october , any ideas??? thanks in advance
thank you funk001 and rachael, im excited because i want to lose weight so bad, and to the person that says hey im a doctor try this, you should know that what is posted there (meridia) — a Meridia Recall was issued after being asked by the FDA to stop marketing the product in the United States due to results of a study indicating an increased risk of heart attack and stroke in Meridia users. so no thanks to that
another thing, about the exercising, what about a home workout dvd, i was thinking about trying Jillian Michaels: 30 Day Shred, you can look it up at walmart.com its only like 8 bucks or something. if i do this with my meal plan i explained earlier will that be good on exercising?
Answer: Edit 2: Well sure that’s good but you need to be moving 30 minutes at least.
Make sure that you do something that you see yourself doing for over 6 months.
If you think it’s boring the first time, failure is imminent and you won’t make it.
You need to be moving for at least 30 minutes 3 times a week.
And I’m talking a real good workout here, you need to sweat and feel tired.
Eat some protein before working out and after working, no carbs, no fat.
If you eat carbs or fat before working out than during workout that is what your body burns.
You dont want to burn your lunch, you want to burn fat!
Be strong.
Here’s another thing, dispite what a lot of people think, you don’t have to starve to lose weight.
In fact, you need to eat more to lose weight!
Sounds funny? Well I’m dead serious.
You need to eat OFTEN, don’t eat a LOT.
Make sure you eat a little thing every 3 hours.
If you eat something often your body gets used to this after a week or 2.
It changes your metabolism to fit your ‘new’ eating pattern.
Result: Your body will burn more calories without you even doing anything in addition.
If you eat very little like you’re probably doing right now then your body goes into ‘preservation’ mode.
If you dont get food a lot your body protects itself by holding on to every bit of energy (fat)
Anyways, knowledge is power, you can find out a lot of information on t he internet on burning fat efficiently.
And I think it’s great your not taking any chemicals or other crap to loose weight.
It’s very unhealthy.
Edit: There are no magic pills, powders, shakes or other things.
It’ll take you years to get where you want if you do not excercise.
You need to get up and move and I guarantee you that youll thank me in october
Let me know if you wanna get in touch for some more advice.
Good luck!

Question: Ok can I loss 60 or 70 lbs in 6 months?? Will this work if I eat only 1000 calories a day and walking 3 hours a day for 6 months, will I loss 60 or 70lbs in 6 months?
If this doesn’t work does any one else have a diet plan to loss this much in that much time??
Thank you very much. ^^
Answer: Hi
Im also 15 and i last September i weighed 145 pounds and lost 33 pounds and i now weigh 112.
To loose weight it is very simple. Don’t listen to diets or plans or anything. Just be natural .
Ill give you my best tips :
-eat smaller and healthier portions throughout the day but more frequently (ex- eat 5 meals a day but make your meals half the size) this will speed up your metabolism and
-drink TUNS of water
-walk every day for 30 min, and also do a 30 min workout thats high impact on the body (dance, ect.)
-Pick 1 day on the weekend and 1 day in the week to take a break from your workouts
-Pick 1 day each week to indulge and not worry about your diet (make sure its only one day a week and it will not affect you at all)
-do not pick at food! Put what your gonna eat in your plate and don’t eat anything else! especially when making the food.
Hope i helped:)
