What is the Best Weight Loss Pill/diet?

This week’s question is as follows:

Question: I want to lose two stone, i would rather not do any more exercise than i do already and please dont tell me to just put the fork down :D lol i need something really structured .. thankyou
Answer: The only ones that actually work are ones with Hoodia in them which suppresses your appetite and Alli which works on the fat but both will only really work to lose weight if used in conjunction with a low fat, low sugar, lower calorie eating plan with lots of extra excercise so why not do that anyway and save yourself a lot of money.
I can recommend the Rosemary Conley Diet & Fitness Club for loads of good day by day recipes.

Elite Model Calling for Weight Loss Help?

What a great weight loss question:

Question: So I’m a 15year old, model who works for Elite Model Managment. They told me that if I really want to keep on modeling I need to lose some weight. Any tips??? I do NOT want to starve either, so I’m looking for healthy diets.

My measurments– 5′10" (approx 178cm) and 121lbs (55kg)

PS They told m to do lots of exercise, but I know that it will only add muscle mass which will not help one bit.

and yes I know that this is a dangerous business and etc etc but I have wanted this all of my life and if Im already with Elite, it means that Ive got pretty big chances of a good career (im not saying its for sure, but its possible).

Answer: I know that Elite usually gets free gym memberships for their models and will often pay for personal trainers to help you develop an exercise routine without bulking up. In NY they have free memberships at Equinox. They should also recommend a nutritionist to you to help you lose weight in the healthiest manner.

You do not need to lose weight at your weight - and I can’t believe they told you to lose weight at your height. You probably need to tone up to get your 34-24-34 measurements. You may not have to cut any calories - it could be just changing your workout routine to help you tone up certain areas without adding bulk. Running on a treadmill with a slight incline is the fastest way to tone up your lower half without bulking up. Pilates is the best for toning up your stomach without bulk. You can also do tons of reps with light weights to burn fat and increase your metabolism without adding any bulk. Do arm curls with 3-5lb weights

Weight Loss Question Read Carefully?

We’ve had a reader question come in on the subject of weight loss. Let’s take a look:

Question: Ok here’s another one of those questions.

1.How long do I need to do CARDIO (w/ no gym equipment) each day to lose at least 15 lbs in a month and continue from there to lose more weight?

2.DO NOT TELL ME ABOUT DIETING/FOOD.
Yes i know that it’s not healthy, that you need to do more than cardio, that dieting is ideal, this that and all the fine print but IDC, i (personally) don’t need to do all that to lose weight

3.So just answer the question and don’t go past that. I know how to work with other exercises, I just need help with cardio because i cant figure out how long i should do it -since it’s going to be my main exercise.

4.Exercise is all i need-(trust me)- it’s the only thing I’ve done my whole life to keep fit, feel amazing & it does wonders for my skin. About to 2 years ago I stopped and since gained some weight that I need to start working on, hence the question.

THANK YOU

Answer: LMFAO

Sorry I couldn’t help myself

The amount of cardio completely depends on the amount of excess food consumed each day.

Losing fat/weight is simple math ( food consumed - (calories burned from exercise + Calories burned sustaining your body) = Weight gained or lost )

So eat less then you burn leaving an excess that your body takes from stored fat.

Does Anyone Know Any Good Bedroom Exercise That Are Good for Weight Loss?

A tough weight loss question this week. Let’s dive straight in

Question: Does Anyone Know Any Good Bedroom Exercise That Are Good for Weight Loss?
Answer: abs exercises will not make you lose weight only to get stronger abs. so for your bedroom the only way is to buy a treadmill. if you don’t like the idea then get out and start running for 20-30 min or join a gym. cut out junk foods and other unhealthy foods, and eat healthy and you will lose weight. but in your bedroom there aren’t much you can do except as i said you buy a treadmill

Is Biking Good Exercise for Weight Loss?

Another weight loss question has come in this week. Let’s tackle it straight away:

Question: If I were to ride 3 miles with my bike would it be the same is if I walked 3 miles? Would I burn near the same calories/ or more?
Would it be the same as if I ran 3 miles?
All this with an appropriate diet of course.
And to me it seems that riding a bike would be better than walking but not as good as running, what do you think?
Thanks!
Answer: I’m a regular cyclist, today riding about 20km into the city & 20Km back home again, to do some window shipping.

Anyhow, it’s an enjoyable form of exercise, as well as being an economical type of transport. But, 3 miles usually does not equal 3 miles riding a bike (unless you are riding up a steep hill climb for the whole distance).

When cycling, you have the assistance of gravity/down hills, a variety of bike gears & the fact that more distance is gained from one spin of the pedals is more than 1 step whilst walking.
So, you’ll need to travel a longer distance when cycling, when compared to walking, to achieve the same calorie usage.

With running, the body requires more erergy than walking or cycling., for every minute of activity. It’s also higher impact, which is not always a good thing, especially if you have joint issues.

All that said, the main reason I ride a bike is because it makes me feel like a kid again.

Weight Loss Fast? Will This Work?

This week’s question is as follows:

Question: ok so if i eat 1200 calories a day (ex. complex carbs, protein, veggies) and exercise 5 days a week (ex. 20 min pilates 2x a day and an hour of walking) will i be able to lose 12 pounds in 3 weeks? ordo i need to exercise more during the day? i really want to tone up and look good in a bathing suit by june 27. im 5′5 a girl and weigh 146 pounds.
Answer: Yes.
Make sure you drink enough water, since you will be putting a strain on your system, especially in Summer, (at least eight 8oz glasses, but 10 would be better).

Also try to balance out those 1200 calories to include a snack or two, and try to have the most calorie meal for lunch, not dinner.

MOST importantly, don’t get too obsessed with it, if you don’t lose the full 12 pounds. 10 will still be a major accomplishment, and 2 pounds won’t make that big a difference in how good you will look.

Best of success to you!

Will Eating MORE Calories Than Usual Help Me Get out of a Weight Loss Plateau?

We’ve had a reader question come in on the subject of weight loss. Let’s take a look:

Question: I lost about 6 or 7 pounds and now I seem to be stuck. I was eating around 1200 calories per day but I heard that raising it slightly will help get your metabolism going again.
I’ve eaten around 1600 today in the hope that it will help but now I feel really guilty :\

So anyway, will this help get me back on the weight loss track?
I’m 5′11, 174lbs and female. I also do around 30 mins of exercise per day.

Thanks for any answers (except spam!) :)

Answer: The only way that eating MORE calories will make you lose weight is if your body is currently in a state of semi-starvation.

When you work out and expend a lot of energy, your body needs to replace that energy. If you don’t give your body enough calories, then your body will start to store the calories as fat because it feels starved and wants to stock up.

The question is, do you feel that you have been starving your body and are in the phase that I described? I think for the body statistics you gave, 1200 calories a day is too little, but I can’t say for certain.

Adjust your diet, focusing not only on the calories you eat but the quality of them. Try to eat 2-3 whole fruits a day, they are a great source of healthy carbs and sugars. Good luck.

Weight Loss For Teenager?

This week’s question is as follows:

Question: Im 14 years old, 5ft 2.. 120 pounds. I wanted to lose maybe 20 pounds or more, and go for a muscular look. Im starting to only drink water, and eat healthier! But Is there anything special I can do so by the end of summer vacation (early september) so i can get to my goal? Thank you!!!! :) If you want to say exercise, tell me what really helps lose excess fat!!! its all about losing the fat first. Then muscle.
Answer: First and most important. You should not talk about losing weight; talk about losing fat and gaining muscle, first you try to lose a load of fat, and some weight with that, than you want to transform your last bit of overdo fat into some muscles which are heavyer than fat!

Join a gym where they have those awesome fat meter equipment.. or just walk in for a free tryout, and do this every now and than at different gyms ( if its to expensive) they can give some great advice on this by the way.. most of them went to school for this… you should really be asking their advice but these are some rules i found on the web, and seem quite logical to me..

couple of simple ground rules;

1. Eat breakfast each day, skipping meals can cause you to gain weight.
2. Control your portion sizes
3. Make every meal look like a rainbow (no skittles :P) means ashitloadd of variety, apples, tomatoes, chicken salad, yogurtt go wild!
4. Choose foods and beverages low in sugar and fat
5. Exercise 5 times a week for a minimum of 30 minutes working up to 60 minutes on most days of the week

especially if you want to gain muscle tissue, don’t be surprised if you gain some weight.. muscle is heavyer than fat! perhaps for the motivation it is best to start off with cardio and condition training, running, cycling, rope jumping break a sweat, after that build up muscle.. just keep eating in a healthy way.. use your brains to decide what food you ll eat, its all quite logical…

oh and maybe find a friend who will join you at the gym, or running every evening.. this makes it easyer to keep doing it..

Biggest issue is not all the plans and systems and stepbystep-crap, its just plain doing it.. people need all these systems because they hope that once its on paper theyll actually do it.. you dont need to count every carb you eat. Aslong as you have a fully functional brain you can figure out what is healthy, and how much to run.. just build it up a bit .. and take it further and further each day..

but hey.. i did not study this.. ask someone at the gym or some healthdoctor or something.. may be a more waterproof plan…

Excess Sagging Skin After Massive Weight Loss….?

We’ve had a reader question come in on the subject of weight loss. Let’s take a look:

Question: I have seen a few TV programmes with women who have lost lots of weight and are left with very loose sagging skin which can only corrected by surgery.

Does this only happen when you are hugely obese to start off with ? (I need to lose about 56 pounds in total)?

Or is it because they lost large amounts of weight really quickly( most of these women had their stomachs stapled and so lost massive amounts of weight rapidly)?

Or is it because they didnt combine dieting with exercise?

Answer: I had a 170 lbs weight loss. 120 of those pounds were lost within 8 months. I exercise, and I am under 30 years old, but the skin still sags :( I will be having corrective surgery paid for by my insurance because it is a health risk for me. Since you only have 56 lbs to lose, you may not have a horrible time with loose skin. Do some toning exercises daily and use firming lotion and vitamin e.
