Weight Loss Help Please!!!?

Keep the weight loss questions coming! I liked this one:

Question: Okay I’m a13 year old girl…I know I’m over weight, I’d really like help on how to loose at least 20lbs before the summers over…I cant always eat right ( mostly because I don’t know what to watch out for in foods), so I’m looking for more exercises, that help you loose weight even when you cant eat right all the time, I’ve been reading and reading on this subject, I’ve learned a few things ( but not sure if they are true) like having cold water on you ( like in your shower) for atleast 15 seconds can help tighten you belly skin, drinking cold water helps with that too, ive heard crunches dont really do any good for you, I’ve herad sucking in for atleast 15 seconds with help tone your muscles, and I’ve also heard spinning helps ( i dont know how though), am I getting the right advice? Can you help me from your own experince? Any advice that’s sure to get me results fast would be very much appreciated :) …I’m really tired of being made fun of for not being "skinny" or what ever, and it makes me feel bad so any help would be appreciated so very much :) thank you so so so much! :) @ Len what’s that?

Answer: Hard work and Dedication!
1. Start running regularly. Do a 10 minute jog every day and slowly move up in time and distance.
2. Crunches do work for you. Do them every night before you go to sleep. Again make sure you do it regularly.
3. Drink a lot of water. Avoid soda!!!
4. Avoid junk food!! (Fast food, chocolate)
5.Reduce your sugar intake.( drink your tea without sugar. Use honey instead)
6. Eat smaller portions.
7. Most important exercise.

Losing weight is hard and takes patience and dedication. Start excessing to your ability. Watch what you eat and you will do great. Also don’t pay attention to bullies, makes excessing much more fun and more rewarding

Help Me with My Weight Loss Goal?

What a great weight loss question:

Question: I am 15 years old and I weigh 142 pounds. It is overweight, I know. I had to quit track because I have really bad hips and shoulders. I really need to lose weight. I drink water only and I eat healthy. Is there any exercises that I could do to aid in weight loss?
Answer: Any exercise that gets you moving will be effective in helping you lose weight. Walking, running, jumping rope, biking, ANYTHING. To help you keep track of the calories you burn, use an online calorie calculator. //www.healthstatus.com/calculate/cbc is one. You input your current weight, then input how long you did the exercise (there is a long checklist of things you might do) and the calculator will tell you how many calories you burned.

To lose a pound of fat, you would need to either burn up (through exercise) or cut out (through dieting or calorie counting) 3500 calories. So if you cut 500 calories per day from your diet, you would lose a pound per week. That is a safe and effective weight loss goal. So say you went on a 30 minute walk. You would burn up about 140 calories. Then you would need to eat 360 fewer calories that day to eliminate the 500 calories total. (Use some sort of exercise and calorie tracker. There are TONS of online programs and many of them are free. www.fitday.com is one that I have been using.)

I'm Nearly 340 Pound and I'm Only 15! I Need Weight Loss Advice NOW?

Another weight loss question has come in this week. Let’s tackle it straight away:

Question: I want to know what type of foods I should eat and what type of exercises I should do. Also, what are good things to do to eliminate belly fat and thigh fat. I’m a 46 waist and I want to get down to a 36-38. I know it will take time, please give me advice and contact me @DevonteAllen and tell me it’s about weight loss so can DM you for help/advice. Thank you
Answer: Use a smaller plate to put your food on, eat breakfast, lunch and dinner…do not snack between. Drink a glass of water before ant meal. Take it slowly exercise every other day. Have a plan A (for exercise) and a plan B, if plan A is going for a long walk, and it raining then revert to plan B, this can be a simple thing as skipping (like boxers do), just walking up and down a few steps.
Good luck

11 Year Old Needs Help with Weight Loss!?

Another weight loss question has come in this week. Let’s tackle it straight away:

Question: Hi I’m Niki and I need to lose to weight, my brother Alex has commented on my weight saying I need to lose some a couple times before, so he’s coming to visit this summer and I need help to lose belly fat mostly, and if you could give some info on the Banana diet that would be great!
I’m 4′11 and I weigh 105 I know not that bad but it looks like it, I’m my tummy and my thighs the most. I need to lose 15 pounds at the most! I am still a kid so don’t tell me to go on a starvation diet or something. I have till. June 3rd! To help you think of good exercises stuff I love swimming running Kickball and 4 square! Anything around that I also love jumprope!
Answer: I’m not going to criticize your brother because you love him and respect him but the guy is clueless and you need to realize that. I’m sure he says this because he loves you and wants you to be happy and healthy but the only person qualified to say you are overweight or need to lose weight at age 11 is your doctor. Everyone else is just talking out of their ….well you’re eleven so i won’t say that, but you’re smart enough to know what I mean.

In fact believe it or not it’s especially important at eleven for you to not lose weight. Bet you didn’t know that? Nobody has talked to you about this I am sure, but I’ll let you in on an important secret. You have a growth spurt coming. It may only be a couple of inches but your body is preparing to add a little more height. You know how I know this? Every kid goes through this as they become teenagers. They gain weight right before the growth spurt because the body uses the weight to add the height. Do you want to stop yourself from gaining those few inches?, right now you are in the sixth grade and everyone around you is about the same height but by next fall everyone will have added 3-6 inches. They are all going through this or will go through this eventually, it’s just your body’s way of getting ready to grow. Your body needs that little extra weight to build itself taller. Yes you weigh more than the average ideal weight at your age but until that growth spurt hits you won’t know for sure if this is because you need to lose weight or your body is packing on pounds to help it grow. If you add just two inches in this growth spurt you will weigh less than your suggested weight for your age.

Now since your question is about weight loss let’s get into that issue. First off exercise won’t benefit you. if you already do the exercises you explained on a regular daily basis (which you should be doing anyways) then adding more exercise won’t help you lose weight. At this point you need to eat a proper nutritious diet. That means fewer McDonald’s stops, no soda only water milk and orange juice. And try to avoid transfat. It’s hard to say what proper caloric intake for an eleven year old as your activity level changes rapidly, but it’s safe to say as long as you cut out fast food and avoid soda you will most likely naturally lose down to the weight your body requires for proper growth.

Weight Loss Question Read Carefully?

We’ve had a reader question come in on the subject of weight loss. Let’s take a look:

Question: Ok here’s another one of those questions.

1.How long do I need to do CARDIO (w/ no gym equipment) each day to lose at least 15 lbs in a month and continue from there to lose more weight?

2.DO NOT TELL ME ABOUT DIETING/FOOD.
Yes i know that it’s not healthy, that you need to do more than cardio, that dieting is ideal, this that and all the fine print but IDC, i (personally) don’t need to do all that to lose weight

3.So just answer the question and don’t go past that. I know how to work with other exercises, I just need help with cardio because i cant figure out how long i should do it -since it’s going to be my main exercise.

4.Exercise is all i need-(trust me)- it’s the only thing I’ve done my whole life to keep fit, feel amazing & it does wonders for my skin. About to 2 years ago I stopped and since gained some weight that I need to start working on, hence the question.

THANK YOU

Answer: LMFAO

Sorry I couldn’t help myself

The amount of cardio completely depends on the amount of excess food consumed each day.

Losing fat/weight is simple math ( food consumed - (calories burned from exercise + Calories burned sustaining your body) = Weight gained or lost )

So eat less then you burn leaving an excess that your body takes from stored fat.

Weight Loss and Healthy Diet Plan?

This week’s question is as follows:

Question: okay so i am 15 years old
im 5 feet 4 inches tall.
i weigh 145 pounds
my hips are 38 inches around
and my upper thighs are 25 inches around.
i would like some healthy meals and/or plan and also a workout schedule and different exercises etc.
I would like to add that im a vegetarian but i also eat seafood.
Answer: Hi :)
Im also 15 and i last September i weighed 145 pounds and lost 33 pounds and i now weigh 112.
To loose weight it is very simple. Don’t listen to diets or plans or anything. Just be natural .
Ill give you my best tips :

-eat smaller and healthier portions throughout the day but more frequently (ex- eat 5 meals a day but make your meals half the size) this will speed up your metabolism and
-drink TUNS of water
-walk every day for 30 min, and also do a 30 min workout thats high impact on the body (dance, ect.)
-Pick 1 day on the weekend and 1 day in the week to take a break from your workouts
-Pick 1 day each week to indulge and not worry about your diet (make sure its only one day a week and it will not affect you at all)
-do not pick at food! Put what your gonna eat in your plate and don’t eat anything else! especially when making the food.

Hope i helped:)

Weight Loss and Dress Problems?

What’s this week’s question? Let’s dive straight in…

Question: I am getting married in August of 2011. I have 7 months to lose 43 lbs. I am currently 18 years old, 5′6, 187 lbs.

I eat 1400 calories a day and I try to do 10 minutes of cardio 5 times per week. (Im just starting out so its all i can handle for now)

I have lost 8lbs so far! (started out at 195lbs)

My question to you is - What else can I do? What exercises do you recommend? — do NOT tell me to run. I have bad knees so running is out of the question.

ALSO- I purchased my wedding dress and it is a size 14 (my current size) I knew I would have to get it altered anyways, but how many sizes can they alter the dress without it looking bad? please help!!!
the dress is a ball gown style dress

Answer: As a seamstress, I will answer your second question first: How many sizes down can a dress be altered? With the amount of weight you want to lose, it sounds like you could possibly drop up to three dress sizes. I have successfully altered dresses down three sizes, so it can be done. But, this all depends on the construction of the dress. You were very wise to purchase the size that currently fits you. So, in the event that you break a leg (please don’t do that) and will not be able to exercise, your dress will fit you.

As a person who has successfully lost weight, I will answer your first question: How to lose weight.
Here are my rules: Drink enough water to pee clear by noon. Never eat while you are standing or driving or watching television. Shop only for healthy foods so there is no junk food to nibble on. Have fresh fruits and vegetables always available. Sometimes just being thirsty tricks you into thinking you are hungry…..so, drink a glass of water if you feel hungry between meals and you will see that in about ten minutes that you really are not hungry after all. Walk. You say you have bad knees, but if you can walk, you are using every major muscle group and it is by far the easiest way to exercise other than the low impact of swimming. Do not eat anything white. No white flour, no white pasta (eat whole wheat pasta instead), no crackers, no potatoes, and only a couple eggs a week and I know it is hard, but no cheese either. The only white thing you should eat is cauliflower. Cut out the salt, too. White food is bad food. Use olive oil for cooking and vinegar for your salads. Vinegar is a great fat burner and wonderful for your digestive system.

Think of good food as good medicine. Dieting is not about starving yourself, it is about selecting the right foods to put into your body. Actually, after you condition your system with good and healthy foods, you will no longer crave the crappy foods. Really, you’ll see. I can’t stand fatty and salty processed foods any more and think they are gross.

Women Only Weight Loss Question!?

I just love answering these weight loss questions. Here’s another:

Question: I’ve just started working out again recently, after stopping for about three months (I had stuff going on.) During those three months, I gained some weight, and it settled right around my lower tummy, so now it looks like I have love handles.
I’ve started doing the elliptical for half an hour seven days a week on a high level, and walking for an hour at night. I burn about 800 calories on the lliptical, and combined with the walking, I think I’m doing well. But, it has been pretty much pointless because I haven’t seen any results.

I was wondering if there were any exercises that you all have had success with that get rid of love handles, or squishiness over the obliques. I tried 70 situps a day for a week, but then my stomach seemed to stick out more. Any help?

Thanks in advance. :)

Answer: doing that ammount of cardio every day of the week should be giving you results!!!

…that is if you are also cutting down on yoour food intake!!

…so cut down on the ammount of food you eat…drink a ton of water…and keep doing what you;re doing with the elliptical!!!
