Is This a Good Diet for Weight Loss?

What’s this week’s weight loss question? Let’s dive straight in…

Question: I was looking around for good weight loss diets and I came across this to an answer of a question on here:

"During the first seven days you must drink 10 glasses of water each day.

DAY ONE

All fruits except bananas. Your first day will consists of all fruits you want. It is suggested you consume lost of watermelon and cantaloupe.

DAY TWO
All vegetables. You are encouraged to eat until you are stuffed with all the new and cooked vegetables of your choice. There is no limit on the account or type. Avoid oil and coconut while cooking vegetables. Have large boiled potato for breakfast.

DAY THREE
Any mixture of fruits and vegetables of your choice. Any amount, any quantity. No bananas yet and no potatoes today.

DAY FOUR
Bananas and milk. Today you will eat as many as eight bananas and drink three glasses of milk. You can also have I bowl of vegetables soup.

DAY FIVE
Today is a feast day. You will eat 1 cup of rice. You also have to eat six whole tomatoes and drink 12 glasses of water today to cleanse your system of the excess uric acid you will be producing.

DAY SIX
Today is another all vegetables day. You must eat 1 cup of rice today and eat all the vegetables you want cooked and uncooked to your hears content.

DAY SEVEN
Today your food intake will consist of 1 cup rice, fruit juice and the vegetables you care to consume. Tomorrow morning you will be five to eight kgs. lighter than 1 week ago. If you desire further weight loss, repeat the program again. Repeat the program as often as you like, however, it is suggested that you rest for three days before every repetition."

What do you think about this? Is this a good diet to go for when trying to lose weight?

Answer: No way. You need to have a mixture of each food group every day. There are so many things wrong with this diet! You aren’t getting proper nutrients your body needs by restricting yourself to one food group this day, one the next day, gorging yourself another day. Look up the food pyramid and figure out what works for you. Typically one may need 2-4 fruits per day, 3-5 vegetables per day, 4-6 carbs, 2-3 dairy, etc.

Weight Loss- Am I Doing It Right?

A tough weight loss question this week. Let’s dive straight in

Question: I am 22 year old male 5.8" tall and I currently weigh 195 lbs. I am trying to get down to about 165 lbs in the next 6-7 months. I am doing the follow right now, but not sure if I am doing it correctly to ensure weight loss - I just need some re-assurance- 1) I have cut out all junk foods and am eating only healthy foods such as Whole grain bread, brown rice, Lean chicken/beef, LOTS of Fruits and Vegetables and a little bit of milk 2) I am eating 1500 calories per day (My BMR is 2000)- I am using caloriecounter.com to keep track of what I am eating. 3) I am doing Calisthetics and Cardio 5 days a week burning around 500-600 calories a day- according to the math I should be in a 1000-1100 daily deficit with both excercise and food -is this normal and healthy way to lose weight? The part which really concerns me sometimes is my accuracy of reporting the food on caloriecounter and sometimes I think its either too much or too little in calories, but i’m assuming thats just my misconception/fear of being wrong. If anyone can give me some advice or reassurance on this matter I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks!
Answer: This sounds absolutely healthy! And realistic! Good for you!! You’ll probably lose that much weight in 5 months, tops, with this plan!!!
