Will This Affect My Weight Loss…?

Well here’s a question I just had to answering straight away:

Question: So I am trying to lose 10 pounds in about two months… I consume around 1200 calories per day and work out 30 minutes at least 5 times a week… I try to eat healthy food like fruits, veggies and nuts along with some carbs… Anyways so yesterday my bro was eating these chocolate cookies and I just ate three of them… I felt guilty and worked out right after that for 30 minutes… Do you think it will affect my weight loss or I will still continue with losing weight?? Thanks in advance…
Answer: I’ve been dieting for around a month and I have lost 13lbs, i wasn’t overweight in the first place but got to the point where the clothes felt tight!

Anyway, those three cookies won’t hurt, you seem to have set a realistic target and a realistic time to do it in. Nice to see someone on here not starving themselves to be skinny and doing it the normal way. Good Luck!

P.S Allow yourself a treat day, this is what i did and it prevents you from cheating in the week. Surprisingly it doesn’t counter act the work you put in all week, as your stomach shrinks and you are able to consume less food, a bit like a fake gastric band i suppose. And always remember to stop eating when you are full!

Any Weight Loss Tips For A 16yr Old Boy?

This week’s question is a good one. Let’s have a look:

Question: Alright hi guys so I’m Greg, 16yrs old and I weigh 166lbs. Now yeah this may not seem horrible except for the fact that I’m only 5ft 5.5in. With this info my BMI calculates to 27.2 which is considered to be overweight. I want to lose at least 16lbs and get to an even 150lbs, losing more if possible. I’m going to start to run over summer and I have been on the track team running an average of 4-5 miles a day but it hasn’t exactly been doing to much. This leads me to believe the issue is with my diet whih may be the case even though for the most part I think I eat pretty well. It could also be due to my family’s history of overweight-ness and slow metabolisms. Is there any tips to use to help me burn more calories and consume less calories like perhaps more filling lower calorie foods? I can’t do too much though since I don’t control what food items come into the house becasue my mom does the food shopping but if its maybe one or two things I can ask her to pick it up once in a while. Thanks for reading this ridiculously long message. Thanks in advance to all of your answers!
Answer: The best thing for you to do, is to continue running. But running alone is not going to fully solve the weight problem your having. You need to do many various activities. My daily workout is jogging for 30 minutes on a treadmill, or riding bike or the gym bikes and then another 30 minutes of straight weight lifting. This allows you to get your heart pumping and is making you sweat and raises your metabolism . Then when your lifting weights your doing short bursts of strenuous activity while also building muscle, which takes over the fat. But if your weight number is your problem, it shouldn’t be. I know your kind of short but if you looked the same you did now but with muscle people would understand. Then you wont have to worry about people thinking your fat, just take off your shirt and they will be like damn son! Also try to get an ab rocket. They are around 30 dollars I think adn they work great for full abdominal workouts and it even works your groin muscles (sometimes painful for us guys) but its worth it for sure. Food-wise you should munch on a lot of celery, just celery though don’t add ranch or peanut butter because that defeats the purpose. Celery is a negative calorie food. If you chew on celery for a long time until its like baby food you have burned More calories eating it than the calories the celery actually is. A good goal is to (for weight loss) keep a days calorie intake to about 1800-2000 calories a day. 2500 hundred being a healthy intake for a person your age not trying to lose weight. Good Luck!

Weight Loss Question (is My Goal Obtainable)? 10 POINTS BEST ANSWER!!!!!!!?

What’s this week’s question? Let’s dive straight in…

Question: I will try to keep this short and sweet :)

I am going into high school the beginning of August (huzzah!) and I currently weigh 120lbs and I am 5′2.5 ft tall. My BMI is 21.6 (which is healthy) but I don’t feel comfortable with my weight. When I was in elementary school I was very chubby and lost TONS of weight, got in shape, ect. But I want to loose 10 pounds in 2 months (approx.) Here is what I plan to do:

Firstly, I am going to swim everyday. I will start small with maybe 20 laps then build to 30, 40, 50, 60, ect. I took a summer job as a secretary Mondays and Tuesdays so after work I will do that. Same with one other day (not sure when) when I am babysitting all day regularly for a family down the street.

Every Thursday me and my girlfriends are all going bowling.

My gym offers free work-out classes (including Zumba) and I will try to go as often as possible.

I am also going to do pool-exercises and going on an extreme weight watchers program. I remember joining Weight Watchers in the 5th grade and I didn’t like it but apparently it has changed.

So how obtainable does my goal seem? If it doesn’t, how much weight do you think I will loose by August? Any tips or advice? Thanks in advance!

Oh and if it helps I am 14 years old (almost 15 so hurray!)

Answer: 10 pounds in 2 months is very obtainable at your age. You have the right approach of watching what you eat. I think 60 laps a day is too much. I think you can stop at 30. Zumba class a couple times a week will be fun. You may not have too, but light weight training a couple times a week might be something you might consider as well. Check to see what is offered at your gym. Do watch the amount of sodium you take in and sweets, both can cause you to retain water. Even iceberg lettuce can cause water retention.

Weight Loss Question.?

This week’s question is as follows:

Question: I hope someone can shed some light on this situation. I’m 18 years old and I weigh 280 lbs. Now, while this seems absolutely horrible (and it probably is) I consider myself to be pretty healthy. I constantly watch what I eat (about 1100 calories / day) and I exercise 3 times a week. In addition, I play a roughly 2 hour game of football with people from my Church about once or twice a month.

I consider myself to be a rather physically fit person but I feel I could LOOK a lot better. I just don’t understand how I’m not losing weight in spite of my activity level. Does anyone have any suggestions that might help? Thanks in advance.

Answer: No fence, but once or twice a month of football is nothing. I consider me playing basketball an hour every week to be extremely unhealthy, so I try to do more than that; but anyways this isn’t about me. I think you should exercise a lot more because the exercise, in my opinion, does more than dieting. There are PLENTY of athletes out there that eat like crap like me, because we burn it off by working out. Im assuming you have the dieting thing down pretty good, because you said you eat 1100 calories a day. Sometimes I eat that much every day, and sometimes I eat 4000 calories a day; either way I burn it off by exercising. And exercising can be found many ways, like weight lifting, running, jogging, walking, going out, etc. A great way to assess your health is to check your resting heart rate, which is the easiest assessment I could think of for cardio health since you are 280 lbs. Your goal should be less than 80 beats per minute. If you don’t know how to do that, look it up, its really simple.

Excel Formula Question to Help Weight Loss Spreadsheet?

Keep the weight loss questions coming! I liked this one:

Question: I am pretty new to excel. I am creating a spreadsheet to track my weight loss and I need to have a field display my current lean mass + 10% (to indicate what weight I would need to be based on my current muscle mass to be at 10% body fat)
so for example if my current lean weight is 191.2 in J18 I want O18 to display that number plus 10% of itself automatically so 210.32 would be displayed automatically in O18. Hope someone can help! :) Thanks in advance
Answer: O18=J18*1.1

Answer: YES YES YES!!! not drinking soda really helps! & yes you will probably lose weight faster because your metabolism should be faster… but it mostly depends on your normal eating habits & exercise habits… but also cutting snapple and iced tea out of you daily diet would help to… try to just drink water… & cut junk food out… but that’s an obvious… well hope that helps :) good luck! =)

Women Only Weight Loss Question!?

I just love answering these weight loss questions. Here’s another:

Question: I’ve just started working out again recently, after stopping for about three months (I had stuff going on.) During those three months, I gained some weight, and it settled right around my lower tummy, so now it looks like I have love handles.
I’ve started doing the elliptical for half an hour seven days a week on a high level, and walking for an hour at night. I burn about 800 calories on the lliptical, and combined with the walking, I think I’m doing well. But, it has been pretty much pointless because I haven’t seen any results.

I was wondering if there were any exercises that you all have had success with that get rid of love handles, or squishiness over the obliques. I tried 70 situps a day for a week, but then my stomach seemed to stick out more. Any help?

Thanks in advance. :)

Answer: doing that ammount of cardio every day of the week should be giving you results!!!

…that is if you are also cutting down on yoour food intake!!

…so cut down on the ammount of food you eat…drink a ton of water…and keep doing what you;re doing with the elliptical!!!
