Keep the weight loss questions coming! I liked this one:

Question: so im 5′2 and weigh 147 lbs & i want to lose weight & maybe replce it with muscle i suppose, i have way to much flab on my belly, thighs and the top of my arms how do i sort it? how much exersize do i need? not something silly like half an hour because i dont think that would help.
im a female btw and football isnt a thing id be into but thanks i will keep it in mind :)
Answer: Hey Lisa,

It isn’t as easy as it sounds, I know. The best thing you can do is exercise. Now, you may think "Okay, I’ll throw on some sneakers and go for a jog." That won’t do it. And in fact, you probably aren’t willing to start your fitness journey by displaying it in front of the world, right? If you’re like me, you want to get fit where no one can see you struggle. That’s why I do in-home fitness DVDs. Not like the creepy Richard Simmons kind of videos, though… In fact, if you really want to get fit by January- the BEST advice I can tell you is to order P90X. It’s a 90 day total body transformation that is used by celebrities like Bruno Mars, Bret Favre, Ashton Kutcher, Demi Moore, Pink, and Michelle Obama. Some people lose over 100lbs in just 90 days. And even better, it specially focuses on turning fat into muscle! I would recommend nothing but this. In fact, here, this link will take you straight to information about this: https://extranet.securefreedom.com/MillionDollarBody/csShopping/ShoppingCart_Detail.asp?PriceID=93429&Cat=Fitness%20Program|P90X

Heck, if you are really into this home fitness things, there are a lot of programs you can look into. Go here: www.beachbodycoach.com/bransonp

Also! Look up my fitness page on facebook. It’s called "Time to Transform with Coach Paalyn." I update it with fitness tips, motivation, and advice as often as I can. And I ALWAYS respond to questions and inquiries. I hope this helps you out. Please feel free to message me on facebook or whatnot if you have any questions I can answer!

At What Point in My Weight Loss Will My Thighs Stop Chafing?

This week’s question is a good one. Let’s have a look:

Question: I have been overweight for as long as I can remember. I am currently 195 lbs and I am only 5′4" tall. Yesterday, I decided that I needed to get more strict about diet and exercise if I really want to take control of my weight.

My goal is to lose 65 pounds so that I will be 130 lbs — right in the middle of my healthy BMI range. Does anyone know at what point I can expect my thighs to stop chafing? (If at all? Or do I have to lose more than that before they’ll stop rubbing against each other?)

Answer: I’m like 198lbs and 5′7" and they don’t rub much so i don’t think you’ll need to lose much, some part will always rub against each other, that’s how human body is.
In math it should be between 5 and 20 pounds because it depends on what form is your body

How Can I Loss Weight in Your Thighs and Lose Fat Fast?

Another weight loss question has come in this week. Let’s tackle it straight away:

Question: i haven’t seen my grandma in a long time so i decided to go down, well 2 my shock when i walked in the door she asked me if i was pregnant. after that i went to the doctors and they said im not so i need a way to lose fat fast.
Answer: I stuck relegiously to it for 3 months and lose 7 pound. I have quite a lot to lose so i thought i would lose more. The main problem was i ended up with too much uric acid in the blood and now my joints are painful but im going to try fast tract hypnosis. Keeping my fingers crossed. My friend also tried it and only lost 3 pound in a month.
edit this is something i read
I should know. I’m an idiot.

I bought the Fat Loss 4 Idiots program a few years ago (Actually, I think it was called "Weight Loss 4 Idiots" then). I was tempted by their claim that I could "lose 9 pounds in 11 days" by "eating foods that I choose". I was excited to fork over my money and begin my journey to weight loss success.

What happened? Well, when I tried to select my foods, I was presented with a list of food choices, many of which I didn’t like. Despite what they’ll tell you in the advertisements, this is a high protein low carb diet. And I’m a vegetarian. There were many "fake meat" products to choose from, but I don’t like those either.

Still, I thought that I might be able to substitute foods that I did like and somehow apply the principle of the diet. I didn’t like what I saw. Other review sites will tell you that you get to eat "4 square meals a day" on the Fat Loss 4 Idiots program. But this isn’t entirely true. You do get to eat four meals a day. However, the "meals" consist of one food only. How much of any one food can a person eat? Not much.

What about all the additional information that comes with the program? There was not a single piece of information on that site which I hadn’t already heard from a free source.

Fat Loss 4 Idiots only works because it is a very low calorie, low carb diet. However, it’s just that. A diet. It doesn’t teach you how to properly eat so that you don’t gain weight when you go off the diet. It’s likely that this is just a temporary solution.
The weight will come back.

The reality is that losing weight permanently isn’t easy and it doesn’t happen overnight. I know that’s not a popular sentiment, but it’s the truth. You are much better off making healthy changes over time that become a permanent part of your life.

Shannon Tani is a former fattie, who weighed over 220lbs. She has currently lost over 70lbs. One day she realized that people would rather hear dieting advice from someone who’s "been there, done that" than a boring old doctor who’s never been fat a day in his life. So she started the website Better Off Fat to share her experiences and ideas.

Help Me Out!! Questions About the Machines at the Gym and Weight Loss???????? Thankssssssssss =)?

Another weight loss question has come in this week. Let’s tackle it straight away:

Question: I’m 18 years old
5 foot 2
And 118 pounds
I’m not overweight but I’ve NEVER exercised a DAY in my life so I’m EXTREMELY unfit, untoned and jiggly. Yuck! I decided to do something about it.

I want to go down to like 113 pounds, but it’s not that serious. I just want to get rid of the inner fat in between my thighs which is a lottt and it’s jiggly and gross and I have cellulite too on the front and back of my thighs.

Will the leg press machine help this? If I do like 100 reps of it. Or even more. On 10 pounds or 30 pounds?

I can’t do cardio because my heart rate goes up to 175 on a slow pace so I get scared and stop…………..

I need this for 6 weeks from now I want to be tone and fit to wear short shorts and mini dresses and my BIKINI!
what machines will help my thigh fat and cellulite problem? i joined a gym i’ll be going 3 or 4 times a week!

Answer: No - the leg press machine will not help with fat on your legs. Really Cardio is the only thing that addresses that.

I’m assuming you don’t have an actual heart condition - I would just take it nice and slow, maybe on the elliptical or exercise bike at first. Or just walk on the treadmill with a slight incline for a couple of weeks until you start to feel comfortable.

If you don’t like that - then I would recommend you either find a yoga class, or look up some yoga routines on the internet. A good routine will still make you break a sweat and burn some calories, but without necessarily making your heart race.

11 Year Old Needs Help with Weight Loss!?

Another weight loss question has come in this week. Let’s tackle it straight away:

Question: Hi I’m Niki and I need to lose to weight, my brother Alex has commented on my weight saying I need to lose some a couple times before, so he’s coming to visit this summer and I need help to lose belly fat mostly, and if you could give some info on the Banana diet that would be great!
I’m 4′11 and I weigh 105 I know not that bad but it looks like it, I’m my tummy and my thighs the most. I need to lose 15 pounds at the most! I am still a kid so don’t tell me to go on a starvation diet or something. I have till. June 3rd! To help you think of good exercises stuff I love swimming running Kickball and 4 square! Anything around that I also love jumprope!
Answer: I’m not going to criticize your brother because you love him and respect him but the guy is clueless and you need to realize that. I’m sure he says this because he loves you and wants you to be happy and healthy but the only person qualified to say you are overweight or need to lose weight at age 11 is your doctor. Everyone else is just talking out of their ….well you’re eleven so i won’t say that, but you’re smart enough to know what I mean.

In fact believe it or not it’s especially important at eleven for you to not lose weight. Bet you didn’t know that? Nobody has talked to you about this I am sure, but I’ll let you in on an important secret. You have a growth spurt coming. It may only be a couple of inches but your body is preparing to add a little more height. You know how I know this? Every kid goes through this as they become teenagers. They gain weight right before the growth spurt because the body uses the weight to add the height. Do you want to stop yourself from gaining those few inches?, right now you are in the sixth grade and everyone around you is about the same height but by next fall everyone will have added 3-6 inches. They are all going through this or will go through this eventually, it’s just your body’s way of getting ready to grow. Your body needs that little extra weight to build itself taller. Yes you weigh more than the average ideal weight at your age but until that growth spurt hits you won’t know for sure if this is because you need to lose weight or your body is packing on pounds to help it grow. If you add just two inches in this growth spurt you will weigh less than your suggested weight for your age.

Now since your question is about weight loss let’s get into that issue. First off exercise won’t benefit you. if you already do the exercises you explained on a regular daily basis (which you should be doing anyways) then adding more exercise won’t help you lose weight. At this point you need to eat a proper nutritious diet. That means fewer McDonald’s stops, no soda only water milk and orange juice. And try to avoid transfat. It’s hard to say what proper caloric intake for an eleven year old as your activity level changes rapidly, but it’s safe to say as long as you cut out fast food and avoid soda you will most likely naturally lose down to the weight your body requires for proper growth.

Help with Weight Loss?

Another weight loss question has come in this week. Let’s tackle it straight away:

Question: I need to lose weight about 50 to 70 pounds as fast as possible. My husband and i want to have another baby before he deploys but he will be deploying in this August so that doesn’t leave me much time especially if i don’t get pregnant right away. My problem areas are places like my thighs, my lower stomach, and my "love handles" i don’t know exactly what to call that my stomach isn’t like saggy or anything it barely touches my thighs when i sit. i hope that gives you an idea. I am 5ft 6inches tall and i weigh about 230 lbs.
Answer: 1 Dietary Balance and reading labels: watch what you eat, and expend more energy than you consume. It’s really that simple. This involves some calculation. Eat less and eat at least five meals a day. Your actual caloric requirement can differ depending on your height, weight, activity level and your body’s metabolic rate.

2 Identify your exercise. No exercise was created equal. You might like running, so run. You might like jogging, so jog. You might like stationary bikes, so bike stationary. Find the one that works best for you. Don’t pick a routine that you don’t like and won’t stick with it for long.

3 Try yoga. Yoga is one of the best ways of losing weight. Of course I can’t go into a full lecture about yoga over here but I can tell you that I have never seen people with better-toned bodies than those who practice yoga. One of the benefits of yoga is that you learn to control virtually every muscle and joint of your body so that the issue of weight gain will cease to exist.

4 Photos and Joining online support group : Take before and after photos. There’s no easier way to illustrate your progress. It’s essential that you not feel alone, and reaching out to friends helps as they know things that you couldn’t possibly know, and they’ve probably been “in your shoes” at some point in the past (or present). Share stories, laughter, tears, successes, and failures. There are thousands of communities out there, so keep looking until you find one that fits you.

5 Water you waiting for If you’re not drinking enough water, your body will let you know. Thirst is an amazing sensation – quench it. If you’re not hydrated, your body won’t be working at peak levels. If you’re worried about “water weight,” remember that you’re likely to retain more water when you’re not giving your body enough of it in the first place. I’m not going to dictate how many glasses you should drink, though – as that’s going to vary from person to person.

6 Zone out. There’s a reason why people exercise to their favorite music – listening to external stimulus takes your mind off of the physical activity making “exercise time” fly or situate yourself in front of TV or video games involving exercises.

7 Dance Out Do Salsa, tango, swing ,hip-hop dancing etc. Anyone can do it,keep in mind you are dancing to increase your physical activity, so there is no pressure on how well you perform dance. Who knows you might even learn a cool dance move or two

8 Sleep it off. To be an efficient fat-burning machine, If you think that you’re doing yourself a favor by sleeping less, you’re mistaken. Give your body time to rest itself, both mentally and physically. Sleep is very, very important.

9 Keep a food diary. All you have to do is jot down what, when, and how much you eat in a notebook, or you can do it online at a Web site . A food diary gives a clear picture of your current eating habits so you can identify the changes you need to make to lose weight.

10 Be motivated. You need to believe in yourself!. Learn to evaluate your efforts fairly and objectively. When you have thought of giving up, visualize how good you will look when you manage to slim down successfully.
