For School I Have to Choose a Weight Loss Program So I Chose Jenny Craig (read Below)?

Question: I have to answer what makes this person a expert but I cant find anything can anyone help?
Answer: I just read a book whereby a woman did research on the various programs and how they are trained and sell their products. I would imagine the corporation keeps their tactics close to the vest. Since this is a major business with, I believe franchises, I suggest you check business publications for the real scoop. Marketing is very powerful. Anyone can claim to be an expert. It is up to the consumer to ask to make sure they are dealing with a licensed dietician with a nursing background. That is not what you will find in the Jenny Craig franchise office. The expert will be an expert in sales. The purpose of the sales expert is to persuade the client to sign a contract. Each statement after the pitch is a closing statement. If the client demures, a counter statement is made. When the initial interview is made, questions, such as, "Why do you wish to join" are asked. If the response is that I wish to lose weight, the sales person will repeat this over and over by saying, for example, "You do want to lose weight, of course." All this information is provided to the franchisee upon purchase and going through the training program. The client is not aware of these subtle type of tactics without previous experience in sales programs. I have included some references. I suggest that you check your library journal data base. If they don’t have one, go to a university that offers Business degrees, and ask to use their data base via the computer. Then, write down the applicable journal articles, go back to your local library and order them. If you are in university now, you know the drill

Question: Does someone knows about a good weight loss program at a clinic or hospital in the Boston Area?
Answer: You have one of the finest hospitals in the country in Boston: Brigham and Women’s. If you call there, they may have such a program, or be able to refer you.

Having said that, weight loss is under your control. It is ALL about calories taken in vs. calories burned. If you eat more than your body needs, you’ll gain weight. If you eat less, you’ll lose weight. And you are probably taking in far more calories than you realize simply by snacking. By adjusting your meals to wholesome, filling foods without empty calories such as gravies and sauces, and then eliminating ALL snacking and "treats" such as dessert, candy, sweets, etc., you will lose weight at a sensible rate over time. Meanwhile, get out and move. Walk around the block a few times every single day. Take the stairs instead of the elevator. For short trips, walk, don’t ride. If you do these simple things to modify your daily behavior, you’ll lose weight. No question about it.

Question: I’m trying to find a weight loss program to suit me. I did weight watchers for a long time and I’m just finding it difficult to continue that program. I do want a program though because I feel like I need the structure of it. Any ideas about programs that work for the long run?

How Do I Stick to a Weight Loss Program?

We’ve had a reader question come in on the subject of weight loss. Let’s take a look:

Question: I really want to start eating healthy and exercising, but the thing is, I will exercise and eat healthy maybe once a month and then lose the drive to continue that pattern. I don’t know if there are tricks or something I can use to help me stay on this healthy lifestyle, but I’m willing to try anything. I’ve gained 10 pounds this last year and I’m not looking to make that a pattern! Please help!!

Healthy food choices, exercise plans, tips, anything would be great!!

Answer: you’re just like the rest of us. things that help me are,

being with and around friends who have the same weight loss goals
finding fun gym classes, or adrenaline boosting music to listen to during cardio
a different variety of good foods
a "reward" food at the end of each week if you do well
monitoring weight loss, seeing results is a plus
.. a few supermodel pictures on the fridge doesn’t hurt either

Question: ok guys …i decided to lose weight a bit cuz i think im cinda tubby,..im 1.64 cm ..im 12 years old and im 60 kg ….i maked a "program" where from 13pm to 14pm im at basketball..and from 15pm to 19pm im going to ride the bicycle..also i decided to COMPLETELY avoid junk food and eat healthy foods..i decided to do this so …do you guys like it or if u can recomend something else pls be free to answer:P…best answer gets 10 points
Answer: 1. Drink water …

No, you don’t have to fill up like a tub, but ensure that you drink 8 to 10 glasses of water every day. Don’t substitute for juice. Your body should always be hydrated. Your kidneys will thank you as it can easily flush out the waste. With adequate water intake your body will be able to metabolize fat more effectively. And if you have a glass of water 10-15 minutes prior to your meal, you will feel full once you start eating. Another fun fact, did you know that you can lose 62 calories by drinking ice cold water? But it’s better to drink it between meals or before meals, so that your food gets digested properly.

2. Eat 5 times a day …

Start with breakfast. The more you eat for breakfast, the less food you will want to eat at night. Please, don’t skip this meal as you’ll end up devouring everything in sight for the rest of the day. You don’t need to gobble up 5 large meals, just 3 meals of a sensible size and 2 delicious yet low calorie snacks. Eat sensibly so your body doesn’t crave for food. If you treat your body right it won’t demand for more attention!

3. Use weights …

Needless to say, exercise is crucial to weight loss. You can’t expect to sit on the couch all day, sip water and lose weight. Join a good gym that lets you work with weights. It will help you build muscle and your metabolism rate will increase. You’ll soon see the fat come off and in its place muscle will develop.

4. Use smaller plates in dark colors …

The hotel industry has changed the way we look at food. Today a regular burger can feed an elephant. Well, almost! Check your portions the next time you dine out. You don’t need to finish every morsel. So, what you should do is ask your waiter to put half of your meal into a doggy bag before it even makes to the table. This way you will not be tempted and you will feel full eating less. And you will have something for breakfast too!
